1. What StakeCrew is — and isn't
StakeCrew (stakecrew.club) is an early-stage, prototype platform where founders can pitch startup ideas and backers can indicate support from as little as £500. StakeCrew is not a regulated investment platform, broker, or financial adviser. Nothing on this Site constitutes financial, legal, or investment advice. We do not vet, endorse, or guarantee any idea, founder, or projected return posted here.
2. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. By signing up, you confirm the information you provide is accurate and that you're acting on your own behalf, not on behalf of someone who hasn't agreed to these terms.
3. Your account
You're responsible for what happens under your account, including anything posted using it. Don't share your login. Tell us if you think your account has been compromised.
4. Posting an idea
If you post a pitch, you're representing that the information in it — the problem, the funding ask, the financial figures, the use of funds — is honest and your own. StakeCrew doesn't independently verify anything a founder submits. Backers are relying on the founder's own representations, not ours.
5. Backing an idea — risk disclosure
This is the important part. If you commit money to back an idea on StakeCrew:
- You can lose all of it. Early-stage startups fail far more often than they succeed. Treat any amount you commit as money you can afford to lose completely.
- There is no guaranteed return. Equity in an early-stage company may end up worth nothing.
- Raises are all-or-nothing. If a raise doesn't hit its funding goal by the deadline, committed funds are intended to be returned in full.
- Illiquidity. There is currently no market on this Site to resell or exit equity you receive. You should assume your stake is illiquid indefinitely.
- Do your own diligence. Nothing a founder posts has been audited or independently verified by StakeCrew. Ask questions, check what you can, and don't rely on figures in a pitch alone.
6. No investment advice
Nothing on this Site — including the blog, news feed, or any content — should be read as a recommendation to invest in, or avoid investing in, any specific idea. We're not licensed to give that advice, and we don't.
7. Acceptable use
Don't use StakeCrew to post fraudulent, misleading, or illegal content, impersonate someone else, harass other members, or attempt to circumvent the platform's security. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate this.
8. Your content
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting it, you give StakeCrew a license to display it on the Site so other members can see it. That's the extent of it — we don't claim ownership of your idea.
9. No warranty
The Site is provided "as is," as an early-stage prototype. We don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or available at all times.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, StakeCrew and its operator aren't liable for losses arising from your use of the Site, including losses from backing an idea that fails, information posted by other users, or Site downtime.
11. Changes to these terms
As the platform develops, these terms may change. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when they do.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
13. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent via the contact details on stakecrew.club.
